Kim Kardashian Talks Marriage With Kanye West? VIDEO
Kim Kardashian may be pregnant with boyfriend Kanye West's baby, but the reality star is in no rush to get married, according to People Magazine.
When older sister Kourtney Kardashian announced she was pregnant with her first child without having wed long-time boyfriend Scott Disick, Kim was quick to judge her.
"I was like, 'You're not married! How could you do this?' I was really firm and strict," Kim said in the 2013 Cosmopolitan April issue.
It didn't take long for the reality star to see that her sister's commitment to Disick didn't need to be amended by a license.
"But she was like, 'Marriage isn't what I want.' And later, I realized she had a better family life than I did," Kim said.
Kim said kids have "always" been on her radar, while lookng up to her younger sister Khloe Kardashian's marriage to basketball star Lamar Odom as a model.
"I saw fast marriages like Khloé and Lamar's and that was what seemed to work," she said. "[Now] I say give it a good six months before you commit. Feelings change, even if it seems so lustful."
While her divorce is still ongoing with Kris Humphries, the star is now realizing that taking relationships slowly is the key to her happiness.
"Sometimes you're just not ready. A person could have it all, and you're not ready for it all. But this is where I probably always should have been...[marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don't have this sense of urgency about it," Kim said of her relationship with the rapper. "I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me."
Expecting her first child with West in July, Kim is looking forward to expanding her family and taking her relationship with the rapper to the next step, one day.
