Cher is Not Dead and is Tweeting! from 'the HereAfter!'
Cher is not dead as many Twitter users believed in the latest massive Internet death hoax, and the singer is joking about it.
"Well here i am tweeting from the HereAfter! Its very Blue up here & thank God they gave me a view of the Sea Palm tress & a Balinese house," the singer Tweeted Friday evening.
Cher continued: "Lets tweet Later 'cause even though im JUST a Spirit im Hungry!!! Going 2 have a Tostada salade ! WONDER What they're serving Down THERE ?"
In the latest massive Internet death hoax late Thursday, a false report was spread by user "Lorraine Star" saying "RT @CNN: American recording artist Cher dies at 65 years old. Found dead in Malibu home."
The message appeared to be from CNN but it wasn't.
"Whoever started that stupid rumor needs to have their face dragged across concrete… #cher is FINE,” said long time friend of the singer, jewelery designer Loree Rodkin. “She’s so NOT dead,” she added.
"I started the Cher Trending topic because I'm God," the user said.
Some celebrities were even commenting on the false rumors.
That was the case of Kim Kardashian.
“Did I juist [sic] hear Cher has passed away? Is this real? OMG,” Kardashian said. “I hope this is a twitter joke and not true. I don't see it on the news anywhere. I'm praying its not true...”
