The first promotional poster from the upcoming blockbuster Iron Man 3 is now officially out, and it features billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) inside a body of water due to his Malibu residence exploding and falling into the ocean.

According to the Yahoo! poster, Tony's armor looks to not be in the best of shape, as pieces of the gear are blown off and smoldering and his scraped up skin is exposed.

However, the site reports that it's even more fascinating to witness the seven suits that the protagonist isn't wearing in the background.

Air-born in the sky behind him is more armored attire. Although the intimidating getup isn't crystal clear to look at, none of the outfits have yet to be seen in any of the previous Marvel films.

The one above Tony's right arm is gray and gold with spiky shoulders. Another one directly behind his left shoulder appears bulkier with a gold, white and black finish, which has many of the franchise's followers speculating that it may indeed be the rumored Deep Space Suit.

A future Iron Man toy had been released at the end of January with the respective description, causing fans to associate it with the future flick.

In other news on the superhero, Empire Magazine spoke to Iron Man 3 writer/director Shane Black, who revealed that the Tony's reliance on technology is increasing due to the Earth shattering events he's been forced to witness.

"After 'The Avengers' he's relying on these suits to feel like he's in any way capable... He surrounds himself with these things almost like a blanket. Instead of taking away his playboy lifestyle and his comfort zone of cushions and creature comforts, we take away his tech and suit comforts," he explained.

More details surrounding the release of Iron Man 3 should continue to unfold as the final theatrical trailer is set to premiere on Yahoo! at 12p.m. EST on Tuesday, March 5.
