On Thursday, Us Weekly posted details from the fan favorite reality judge who will be taking over for Howard Stern who left the series. As Cowell's been a producer for AGT, he admitted that he's been wanting to be a judge on the series for some time now.
"I've been thinking about it for a while," he said. "We did actually talk about me doing the show a few years ago, and at the time I couldn't do it. But having been on the British show ever since it started, every time I used to turn up and watch America's Got Talent, there was a part of me that always thought, 'You know what? It would be a really fun show to do.'"

This made the man realize that he couldn't say no to the chance of when the offer was brought up again.
"When it came up again this time, I thought it was just too good an opportunity to turn down," Cowell said. "And I want to experience what it's like judging American talent on this show, compared to just British talent."
The judge then teased that this season will not be like how it was before.
"It's definitely going to be a lot different," Cowell admitted. "And it should be. We are always looking for someone good."
The new season of America's Got Talent is expected to premiere this summer on NBC.
