Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones Marriage: Actress Says Couples Are ‘Too Quick To Quit’ [VIDEO]
There's a good reason why Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are still married after 15 long years, when many marriages in Hollywood can barely make it past two.
The actress opens up about her relationship with her husband in a new interview while also proclaiming that too many married couples are "too quick to quit" by throwing in the towel rather than fighting hard to make things work.
According to Closer Weekly on Wednesday, the Welsh-born beauty says while she and Douglas have definitely had their fair share of ups and downs, divorce was simply not an option for them. They did briefly separate back in 2013 before reconciling in 2014.
Zeta-Jones said, "It's a long road and I think people today are so quick to throw in the towel on marriage. You have to give it your best shot and not give up when the first problem arises, because that won't be the last problem. There will be many more down the road."
She added, "Fifteen years is a long time. You've got to keep the home fires burning!"
Zeta-Jones and Douglas married in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in New York City back in November of 2000. The couple have two children together, son Dylan and daughter Carys.
