Diane Lane, Josh Brolin Divorce: Without Wedding Ring Days After Split, End of Eight-Year Marriage
Diane Lane stepped out in Los Angeles on March 2 without her wedding ring, only a week after announcing her split from Josh Brolin after eight years of marriage.
The 48-year-old Man of Steel star took a walk with her dog and wore a red striped shirt and jeans, paired with oversized sunglasses. She was photographed on her cellphone near her parked car and with her left hand raised toward her waist, viewers were able to see that she was not wearing her wedding ring.
Lane signed divorce papers on Valentine's Day and filed them the following day on Feb. 15, according to Daily Mail. The couple got engaged in 2003, married in 2004 at Brolin's California ranch and have no children together. It is the second divorce for both Brolin, 45, and Lane.
"They've been separated for several months. This was a hard decision for both of them to make," a source close to the couple told People. "The relationship just ran its course."
A spokesperson for the couple said despite the break-up the actors remain friends and an inside source added, "It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It's not ugly, it's just over."
On New Year's Day, Brolin was arrested for public intoxication in Santa Monica, Calif, according to The Huffington Post. He paid a $250 bail and was not given a citation for the arrest but the magazine noted that he was photographed not wearing his wedding band the following day.
Not long before they announced news of their divorce Brolin called his wife "a very strong woman, extremely strong" in a press interview for his film Gangster Squad. In the same interview Brolin talked about how he and Lane made their eight-year marriage work despite their Hollywood careers, saying they stay away from the spotlight.
