'Finding Dory' Spoilers: 'Finding Dory' Toy Promo Hints At Plot Points Of The Movie [VIDEO]
A clip featuring some new toys for Pixar's upcoming Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory drops few hints about the movie and reiterates a few plot points.
Michael Sheen Joins Cast Of Finding Dory
HeyUGuys reported the most important of these being Dory's (Ellen De Generes) search for her family, as one of the lines in the promo suggests: "My parents, I remembered them."
Dory also has a number tag attached to her, which might mean something, perhaps Dory was taken away from a manmade institution that captured her? We wonder if this might have anything to do with DeGeneres's previous suggestions that the movie would be anti-Sea World.
Two New Characters Introduced For Finding Dory
In an interview with Yahoo! DeGeneres hinted at how the the movie will promote the idea of fish being free in their natural habitat over captivity of any form -- like in aquariums.
"I think that fish should be in the ocean," she said. "It's what this whole sequel is about: It's about rehabilitation and putting them back in the ocean... And we have to protect our oceans. Hopefully that discussion starts with this film, because we really need to protect that environment."
Publications concerned with animal rights have championed this aspect of the movie, suggesting that it will send out a message to money-making sharks like Sea World as well.
DeGeneres also spoke about the basic premise of the movie:
"Dory is searching for her parents - she realizes [she] has parents - and comes across some characters who are somewhat helpful."
Old characters and stars reprising their role in the movie other than Degeneres, include Destiny portrayed by Kaitlin Olsen, Nemo's dad played by Albert Brooks, and Hank played by Ed O'Neil. The movie will also star Ty Burrell, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, and Idris Elba.
Finding Dory will open in theaters on June 17, 2016.
