The Timberwolves didn't beat the Miami Heat Monday night but it's not their 97-81 loss that everyone is talking about, instead it is their Harlem Shake video mimicking the defending champions.

Dwyane Wade dropped 32 points while LeBron James added 20 and Chris Bosh scored 11 against Minnesota, which helped set a franchise record of 15th straight victories for the Heat.

Then on Tuesday, the T-Wolves released their own version of the Harlem Shake in which a guy dressed in a James jersey gets beat up by the Wolves' mascot with a bat.

The video starts innocently enough with a guy in a helmet and Miami Heat jersey dancing to the opening bars of Baauer's Harlem Shake. Suddenly "Crunch," the Timberwolves' mascot, appears and beats the the life out of the Heat enthusiast. Finally a screen comes up that reads "Some things get old fast."

The Harlem Shake consists of a video starting with one person moving to the beat. Once the beat drops, everyone starts shaking. Enstars reported on March 1 that the defending NBA champions joined the dance frenzy by putting on a show in their team's locker room.

The YouTube clip uploaded on Thursday presented James and teammates dancing to the hit tune while dressed in outrageous costumes from Mario Brothers to Phantom of the Opera.

The video begins with the players in the locker room doing normal activities like reading and stretching on the floor dressed in their warm-up gear. Chris "The Birdman" Anderson starts the 56-second clip by dancing around his teammates in a bird-like arm motion.

The Timbervolves' rendition prompted SB Nation to declare that the team "officially won the sports Harlem Shake contest."

The Harlem Shake is an internet meme based on a song by Baauer. At the height of its popularity, thousands of videos a day were uploaded to YouTube with groups of people joining what starts off as a lone dancer backed by the music. The original Harlem Shake - a much more raw, technical, fluid, frenetic dance - started in New York City in 1981.
