'The View' Cast 2016: Whoopi Goldberg Reportedly 'At War With Management,' Does She Want To Get Fired? [VIDEO]
Is there bad blood happening with Whoopi Goldberg and the producers of The View?
Chatter On Nurse Backlash On 'The View'
The celebrity has been a talk show co-host on the daytime series, but according to Saturday's report from Page Six, she might be trying to get the execs to let her go from the show. Apparently, she gets $5 million a year for being on the panel, but "she has been at war with management."
"Whoopi has been so antagonistic, she's constantly at war with management," an insider said. "It's so bad that some execs think she's daring them to fire her so she can go off and do other things, particularly after her 'slave' outburst. She knows if they did fire her, they'd have to pay out her contract and she'd be paid $5 million for doing nothing."
Did Whoopi Goldberg Get 'Out Of Control' Over Changes On 'The View?'
The 'slave' outburst is referring to a time when Goldberg reportedly made a scene by calling herself a "slave to ABC." It also seems that even if she did continue with the series though it may not really be worthy in her favor.
"Whoopi loves the money, but she doesn't want to work so hard anymore," the source said. "She doesn't come in prepared, she doesn't really engage with other panelists and guests. She gives some one-liners and moves on. Her contract is up at the end of this season, and even if she does renew, it would be for significantly less money."
