Most recently, it was revealed that Joel Kinnaman is set to join the series. Netflix hasn't revealed anything about the role Kinnaman will be playing, and even its scope. Kinnaman is best known for playing Stephen Holder on The Killing. In news of other new cast members joining the show, one of the big stars coming on board will be Neve Campbell. Deadline had hinted that Cambell's character might rival Frank (Kevin Spacey) in the next chapter. This fits in with another spoiler relating to a younger power couple being introduced in the Netflix political drama. Colm Feore--best known for his work on Utopia--will also be joining the show but little is known about his character. A Deadline report revealed hat he will be portraying a high profile character in the White House.
Speaking to Pop Sugar on the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Elizabeth Marvel (who plays Frank Underwood's adversary Heather Dunbar) revealed that the next season of House of Cards will be "mordant" and "fiery."
Hillary Clinton Thinks House of Cards Is 'Bad TV'?
The actress was asked for three adjectives that would describe the upcoming season of the Netflix political thriller. "Spicy...let's see...it's very mordant, it almost gets morose at times, and then it gets so fiery and explosive, it's definitely not what you see coming, I will tell you that, you will not see this season coming."
In other recent news, House of Cards has been renewed for a fifth season but showrunner Beau Willimon won't be hemling the series after this chapter.
Additionally, the teasers that have been released for season 4 thus far have alluded to the fact that Frank won't be giving up on his evil ways just yet, as they keep reiterating the many murders behind him from Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) on the train tracks to people being killed by leaving the engine exhaust of the car running and shutting closing the garage. Some of the other teasers have been about Frank's campaigning for reelection in 2016. Rest assured each one of these teasers has had an ominous tone to them.
Season 4 will premier March 4 on Neftlix.
