The Dark Knight Rises' Christopher Nolan Close To Joining 'Justice League,' Christian Bale May Be Next (Video)
Fans of the superhero world will surely be excited to learn that highly acclaimed director of The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan, is reportedly in serious talks to produce the Justice League comic hero ensemble movie.
Latino-Review states that Nolan is in discussions with Warner Bros. studios to oversee future DC comics-based films, which includes the superhero mega-movie that would feature Batman and Superman joining forces with other comic character all-stars on the big screen.
Nolan, who was at the helm for The Dark Knight Trilogy and is the consulting producer on the Zack Snyder rebooted Superman flick Man of Steel, could produce the Justice League while Snyder is being heavily considered to direct it.
With Nolan on board, Warner Bros. now reportedly has a heightened interest in actor Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego Batman in the future blockbuster, which would be subject to a finished script and details of a potential deal being worked out. Bale would star along with Man of Steel's Henry Cavill.
The actor previously claimed that he wouldn't be putting on the Batman uniform ever again, as he stated the following in an Entertainment Weekly interview last year:
"We're finished with all we're doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character. I've got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any 'Justice League' project," he said.
However, Bale had also come out to express his interest in the part pending the attachment of his Dark Knight Rises director Nolan, according to Empire.
"My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time. But if Chris came to me with a script and said 'You know what? There is another story', then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work."
The Justice League movie is slated to grace the big screen at some point in 2015, as the script has yet to be completed.
