Demi Moore Divorce Papers Filed Against Ashton Kutcher 16 Months After Their Split
Demi Moore is ready to file divorce papers 16 months after announcing her split from Ashton Kutcher and following failed attempts to reach a confidential settlement, an insider told New York Post Wednesday.
The former couple was married for six years and the announcement of Moore, 50, filing divorce papers coming nearly three months after Kutcher, 35, filed his own papers. Moore's lawyers could file paperwork as early as Wednesday and the insider also said the divorce could go to trial.
"Ashton made a lot of money after marrying Demi - a lot more than she made - but despite him becoming just as famous through her, he believes he doesn't owe her that much," the source said, adding about Moore, "She has had enough. After over a year of attempting to reach a settlement, Demi is definitely ready to move on."
Kutcher "has been very difficult during the talks" and has even been "hostile, according to the insider. Both parties hope a settlement can be reached by the spring otherwise the divorce will go into litigation and trial, in which the two stars will have to face each other in a court battle that could itself be stretched out.
Kutcher, who currently stars in Two and a Half Men, has been dating actress Mila Kunis for nearly a year. In January Moore was rumored to be dating restaurateur Harry Morton and were evening spotted on a date in Beverly Hills.
