The Central City CSI was only conscious for a few minutes before the STAR Labs gang knocked him out in "Welcome to Earth-2," but the doppelganger's story will come to the fore as Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) race against the clock to find their missing friend.
"They don't know where Zoom's lair is. They don't know how to find him so they turn to CSI Earth-2 Barry Allen to lead the way," executive producer Aaron Helbing teased in an episode 14 preview. "He's a bit uptight, but you see how skillful he is and resourceful and you understand he and Iris' relationship. It all makes sense in this episode."

In fact, it will be Barry's (Grant Gustin) devotion to Iris (Candice Patton) that causes him to continue on the mission. Detective West is more determined than ever to find the demonic speedster, and although Joe (Jesse L. Martin) descried his son-in-law as "selfish," the Milo Thatch look-alike won't let his wife dive into danger on her own.
"The Earth-2 Barry sort of steps up and starts to do things he never thought possible," Todd Helbing explained.
