Even West, who is never one to hold his tongue, has had some surprising moments on Twitter that made fans raise their eyebrows. But one insider has said that the controversial rapper is suffering a battle under the surface that fans can see.

One of West’s former writers, Rhymefest, has revealed news about West after a fan asked if they would ever work together again.

“Nah his mind and spirit isn’t right”

He told another fan, “My brother needs help, in the form of counseling. Spiritual & mental. He should step away from the public & yesmen & heal.”

When one fan asked if we’ll have to “settle” for West’s current lyrical taste until then, Rhymefest confirmed, “unfortunately yes.”

He revealed that he just cut ties with West “last month” after one fan called him out for being “salty” that West no longer wanted to work with him. “Peep me at my Grammy nomination Tues,” he added.

He went on to tell another fan that West’s well-being is what is the most important.

“I love my brother. I pray for his health not our entertainment.”

He also confirmed he has already tried to help West.

It’s no surprise that fans want Rhymefest to get back into the studio with the rapper. He helped write West’s epic hit Jesus Walks on his popular College Dropout song. But it is also no secret that from his fallout with Wiz Khalifa on Twitter and his most recent rant revealing he is $53 million in debt, West has had quite a moment.
