'Fashion Police' Cast: The Real Reason Why Wendy Williams Turned Down A Spot On The Show [VIDEO]
Wendy Williams’ no filter attitude almost snagged her a spot on a hit series; but she turned it down.
Williams could have been the newest host of E!’s Fashion Police, but apparently she opted out of it because she lives iand tapes her own show The Wendy Williams Show n New York City and the show is taped in Los Angeles.
She told The Post Sunday, “Melissa [Rivers] asked me about ‘Fashion Police.’ But the problem is we’re live out of New York. I can’t be flying back and forth [to Los Angeles]. I don’t want phlebitis or spider veins. I have enough going on. Too much flying. I couldn’t do it.”
TLC Is Still Coming For Wendy Williams
Still, the daytime talk show host paid homage to Rivers’ late mother, Joan Rivers, as the only one who knew her show would be a success. And Williams has kicked off her own fashion segment called Wendy’s Style Squad that will air Tuesdays at 9/8c on BET. Fashion personalities Bevy Smith, Robert Verdi and Lloyd Boston are also on the show.
Williams said, “We’ll criticize, I mean, talk. I mean, we’ll have a moment speaking lovingly about celebrities…Because social media has because everyone’s outlet, everyone is a reporter now. Everyone is a critic. Everyone has a voice and it depends on how loud you beat that drum.”
She added that she understands no one will reach Joan’s level when it comes to reporting on fashion.
“I love fashion, but I also have an opinion. It’s not Joan, but you know, there will never be another Joan.”
Williams has never been one to back down from sharing her honest opinion on celebrities and it’s safe to say this show is no different.
“Bring it,” she said.
Now, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes has secured a spot on Fashion Police for the rest of 2016.
