Jared Allen just announced his retirement with a Twitter video to fans.

Following a 12-year career, which he concluded with the Carolina Panthers, Allen revealed he was hanging up his cleats, and proceeded to ride off into the would-be-sunset on a horse--seriously.
"Well everyone, I just want to say thank you for an amazing 12-year career," Allen told fans in the short clip. Then, after looking behind him, he added, "This was the part where I was going to ride off into the sunset, but seeing how there's no sunset, I'm just going to ride off."

During his 12-year career in the NFL, Allen played for the Kansas City Chiefs, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears. He also played in the Pro Bowl an impressive five times.
Following Allen's announcement, a number of his former teammates weighed in.
Allen's final team, the Panthers, also shared a message about Allen with their followers, which also included a highlight clip of his time there.
