‘Law and Order SVU’ Season 17 Spoilers: Next Episode ‘Ripped From The Headlines,’ Preview Reveals [VIDEO]
The preview for the next episode, 'Star-Struck Victims,' of Law & Order: SVU reveals an accusation of rape on a celebrity gone awry.
Rollins To Go Undercover To Crack Down On Paedophile Sneak Peek Reveals
The clip reveals that the case has been "ripped from the headlines" judging by how often crimes like these are heard of in the celebrity community. "A beloved TV star is accused of the unthinkable" i.e. rape. As the preview progresses Deputy Chief William Dodds (Peter Gallagher) stops and makes the team think about how often people tend to prey on celebrities. "People look at a celeb and see an easy pay day," he says. Then there is the suggestion of an "SVU twist" which means Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team won't easily buy into the victim's statement. The clip ends with the woman looking distraught and shocked, facing Benson, as she says "You don't believe me!"
Here's the official synopsis:
"A famous actor is arrested for rape, but then the charges are dropped due to lack of evidence. However, Rollins isn't satisfied with that and takes matters into her own hands."
The episode will air on February 24 on NBC.
