Oscars Best Actor 2016: Did Leo Finally Win Award For 'The Revenant?' [VIDEO]
It's been a long-awaited journey and now, Leonardo DiCaprio can finally call himself an Oscar Winner after winning the Best Actor award at the Academy Awards!
DiCaprio beat out last year's winner Eddie Redmayne, who was nominated for The Danish Girl, as well as nominees Bryan Cranston for Trumbo, Matt Damon for The Martian and Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs, ending his streak of prior nominations but no wins.
His win was not surprising due to his streak of wins throughout this awards season, which saw him pick up critical honors including the BAFTA, the Golden Globe, the Critics Choice Award and the Screen Actor's Guild award. Of his fellow nominees, the only other one to pick up an award all season was Damon, who also won a Golden Globe.
DiCaprio's previous nominations included Best Supporting Actor in 1993 for What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Best Actor in 2005 for The Aviator, Best Actor in 2007 for Blood Diamond, and Best Actor for The Wolf of Wall Street in 2014.
