'House of Cards' Season 4 Spoilers: New Showrunners For Series Revealed [VIDEO]
After recent news of House of Cards helmer Beau Willimon exit from the show, Netflix has now announced who will be taking the reigns from him.
Which New Cast Members Will Be Joining In Season 4?
The producers have sought out inhouse talent to run the show going forward. The network has chosed two of the senior writers, Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese, who have been working on the show since 2014, In a press statement, the show's Executive Producer Kevin Spacey introduced the two as the new showrunners of the series.
"I welcome Frank and Melissa in their new roles on House of Cards and look forward to collaborating with them and our creative team on Season Five," he said. "We and the rest of the House of Cards writers look forward to the next chapter of the reign of Underwood," said Gibson and Pugliese."
In January with the announcement of the renewal of the series for another season, it was revealed that current showrunner Beau Willimon was on his way out.
Willimon also spoke about his exit in a press statement:
"I'm grateful to Netflix and MRC, my fellow executive producers, our two incandescent stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, our talented writers, as well as the incredible cast and crew with whom I've had the privilege to work. After five years and four seasons, it's time for me to move on to new endeavors, but I'm supremely proud of what we've built together, wish the show much continued success, and leave it in the hands of a very capable team."
Season 4 of House of Cards is set to return on March 4.
