Lady Gaga glamorized her recent hip surgery by rolling around in a trendy wheelchair.

She's been riding a 24-karat gold-plated wheelchair since designer Ken Borochov replaced her first set of wheels after the surgery last month. Gaga had surgery on Feb. 20 for an inflammatory join infection called synovitis, according to USA Today.

Her stylist asked Borochov, who designed the leather-tufted chair, to do so with just one week's notice. A total of 1.5 ounces of gold were plated onto the chair.

"It was a huge undertaking," Borochov said of the wheelchair, which also has a removable canopy. "I wanted [the wheelchair] to look like a throne. It was made all over the United States; my assistant had to run around everywhere."

Although he had never met the pop singer, Borochov put in effort to make sure the chair represents quality work and does not turn out to be just another photo on Gaga's Facebook page. He had also created gold hand adornments for Gaga to wear to her fragrance launch back in October of 2012.

Her hip injury forced Gaga to cancel the remainder of her Born This Way tour after her Jan. 29 concert in Dallas.

Borochov, a 30-year-old Israeli-born fashion designer, started his own jewlery brand two years ago in New York.
