The cast of Downton Abbey is remaining coy about the final episode with little hints being thrown around.

Producer Gives Update On Possible 'Downton Abbey' Movie

On Friday, Masterpiece released a podcast with some of the cast members from the series who were asked what viewers can expect in the last episode airing next week. Jim Carter, who plays Carson on the series, explained why it's best to keep certain details under wraps so fans can get a real pleasure in the end.

"The way television works is people watch and they get excited about the story, but if you have told them, some idiot from Yorkshire's told them the story beforehand it ruins their pleasure. And then they come looking for that idiot and persecute him," Carter joked. "So I don't want to be in that position."

Chatter On Lady Mary's 'Shocking' Moment On 'Downton Abbey'

With that being said, a couple other stars from the series mentioned minor details. Joanne Froggatt, who plays Anna, said the finale will be "lovely" while Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) said it's "a real number." Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore) said there will be "lots of very touching things."

The actors were then asked if there is a chance that Mrs. Patmore, Daisy, Andy and Mr. Mason will end up as a "happy family at Yew Tree Farm."

That answer wasn't revealed, but Nicol said that would be a "lovely thought."
