Reigning "American Idol" champ Phillip Phillips performed his latest single "Gone Gone Gone" on "American Idol" Top 10 Results show Thursday evening.

Playing the guitar, Phillips rocked the studio with the single from his debut album "The World from This Side of the Moon." Music critics described it as a "folk-rock anthem" similar to his biggest hit to date "Home."

"This is just a beautiful love song--but it's not cheesy," Phillips said, according to Yahoo! Music's Reality Rocks. "I really like how it plays out. It has a serious feel to it, like, 'I'll be at your side, no matter what.' But it doesn't have to be about a girlfriend or boyfriend. It can be about anyone that you love dearly--a family member or something."

Phillips received a 4-time platinum plaque on the show tonight handed over by judge Randy Jackson.

The singer made "American Idol" history when his previous single "Home" reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Adult Pop Song charts.
