Kristen Stewart's Mom Jules Stewart Directing Debut LGBT 'K-11'; Wanted to Cast Daughter As Rape Victim
Jules Stewart, mother of Twilight star Kristen Stewart, directed the LGBT prison drama K-11, which is scheduled to be released March 15.
One of the major roles in the film was originally reserved for Kristen Stewart to play, according to The Inquisitr. The role was of a rape victim named Butterfly, with a rape scene, who Jules Stewart believed her daughter could have played well because of her darker side.
The director told Us Weekly, "Kristen has a dark side. Kristen has the edge -- thank god, right?"
Portia Doubleday landed the role and Kristen Stewart has a small part in the film playing a secretary. She had to turn down the bigger part because she was filming Snow White and The Huntsman at the time.
However, Stewart attached herself to the role six years ago when she was just filming the first film for the Twilight series.
"She kept working and she kept working and she kept working. And she got really big and we were still really small and I was like, 'Go! Go do Snow White, please, go make those big films honey, that's wonderful!," her mother told the magazine.
The film is set inside a Los Angeles County jail section that is reserved for LGBT inmates. For more information on the film, click here.
