Royal Baby Name: What Is Kate Middleton and Prince Wiliam's Baby Girl Nickname?
Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William have yet to come up with their first child's name but are said to have picked out a nicknamed for their unborn baby.
The Duchess of Cambridge has nicknamed her baby "grape" because of the size of her baby bump, according to a report. The expecting mother is also said to be using an app on her smartphone to track the size of her growing belly in between her prenatal medical appointments.
Several reports claimed that the royal couple have already decided on their baby's name but an insider close to the couple denied the reports.
"Nobody knows what William and Kate are calling their baby or even if they have decided on a name," a royal source revealed to E! News on Thursday.
Middleton, 31, is about nine weeks along into her pregnancy. The announcement was made in a statement by St. James Royal Palace.
"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," a rep for the couple said on Dec. 4. "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, and members of both families are delighted with the news."
Later that day, Middleton was admitted into a London hospital for an extreme morning sickness condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum.
Middleton caused speculation that is pregnant with a baby girl when she made a slip during an event on March 5.
When the Duchess was given a teddy bear as a gift, she said: "Thank you, I'll take that for my d--" then cut herself before she could say the word "daughter."
When someone asked her if she was about to say "daughter," Middleton replied, "We're not telling."
A local who overheard the brief chat about the baby's sex later told the press: "I said to her: 'You were going to say daughter weren't you?' and (Middleton) said, 'No, we don't know,'" said Sandra Cook.
"I said, 'Oh, I think you do', to which she said: 'We're not telling,'" Cook added.
Enstars reported that the names Elizabeth and Diana are the most popular names believed to be given to their unborn child, according to several online gambling websites.
