Rachel Weisz Beauty Ad Banned in UK
Rachel Weisz is the latest celebrity to have a beauty ad banned in the UK.
Britain's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) deemed L'Oreal's ad for an anti-wrinkle product "misleading" because it falsified results, Reuters reports.
"Although [the ASA] considered that the image in the ad did not misrepresent the luminosity or wrinkling of Rachel Weisz's face, [the ASA] considered that the image had been altered in a way that substantially changed her complexion to make it appear smoother and more even," stated the watchdog group.
The ad for L'Oreal's Revitalift Repair 10 features a black and white shot of the actress' face, which appears wrinkle-free.
This isn't the first time a celebrity's beauty ad was banned by a UK watchdog group. Last December, the self-regulated National Advertising Division (NAD) determined a Cover Girl print ad featuring Taylor Swift was overly Photoshopped. Proctor & Gamble eventually pulled Swift's ad for NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara.
