They were happily in love when they began their freshman years of college on opposite sides of the country, but life is extraordinarily different now for Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and Matty (Beau Mirschoff) on Awkward.

Both are back in Palos Hills following their first year of college, and not only are they not together-but they can't even stand to be in the same room as one another anymore, meaning that whatever happened to break them up this time around was huge-bigger even than Jenna cheating on him in Junior Year when she was tempted by Colin (Nolan Funk).

Now, in a preview clip for the Tuesday, March 22 episode, we may finally learn just what caused the two to split-as well as some other details about all the major changes during freshman year that led to a Sadie (Molly Tarlov) and Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) friendship, and a Jake (Brett Davern) and Lyssa (Greer Grammer) reunion as well.

In the clip, it appears a reunion when Matty goes to visit Jenna at Wyckoff doesn't go as well as planned, though things start off innocently enough with a welcoming smooch in the hallway outside of her dorm.

But something will be exposed while the two are reunited, and it will be enough to cause Matty to storm out on Jenna-and potentially be what caused their relationship to end.

"What are you?' An upset Jenna cries in the preview clip.

"Goodbye, Jenna!" Matty shouts before storming out.

However, making matters worse for Jenna, when she needs to get words of encouragement from her BFF, Tamara is busy in New York, getting close to Sadie despite their years of mutual hatred for one another. And it appears that Sadie is definitely the one who caused Tamara to replace Jenna'a role as the person who gets primary status in her life.

"Don't worry about Jenna," Sadie says in the clip. "You are in New York City."
