Around late last year, Lauren Cohan, who portrays Maggie on The Walking Dead, appeared in public sporting a short new do, which prompts speculation that something had happened to her character. Viewers are worried that she got a haircut because she wasn't on the show anymore.

In this next episode, we do know Maggie is alive - and her haircut is part of the plot. Enid (Katelyn Nacon) does the job, and when she asks the mom-to-be why she's going with a new look, we learn that Maggie's haircut is a symbolic removal of hindrances.

"I have to keep going," Maggie says, "and I don't want anything getting in my way."

So there you have it folks!

A haircut does not always mean an end of a character, but it could also mean "new beginnings."

After all, a new haircut to a woman means a "new life."
