Kailyn Lowry Divorce: 'Teen Mom 2' & Javi Marroquin Split? She Talks Deployment [VIDEO]
Kailyn Lowry and her husband, Javi Marroquin, have been apart for months due to his deployment, and it hasn't always been easy.
In a new interview, the Teen Mom 2 star spoke of the challenges of having a partner who is enlisted in the military.
During an interview with PEOPLE Magazine last week, Lowry admitted that Marroquin's deployment "takes an emotional toll on him and us as a family."
"It gets tough," she said. "I think that you'll see some parts of it being hard, and it's emotional, and there are some happy parts, like [we're] trying to stay positive through everything."
While Marroquin is stationed in Qatar, Lowry is caring for her two sons, Isaac, 6, and Lincoln, 2, as she communicates with her husband via FaceTime "almost every day."
"It can make or break a relationship," Lowry admitted, assuring the magazin that despite their hardships and past troubles, she and Marroquin are doing "good" right now:
"We're handling it the best way that we can, so I have no worries or anything," Lowry explained.
With Marroquin out of town for the next few months, Lowry is focused on her family and her schooling, and has actually formed a close friendship with her oldest son's father's girlfriend, Vee Torres, who recently gave birth to Jo Rivera's second son.
"It's so funny because my friends from school, they don't understand how I could be friends with my son's father's girlfriend," she said. "But Isaac will probably go to college, he's going to start a family, we're all going to want to be involved. I look back when I was [in my teens], and I'm like, why did it take this long to get where we are? We're all friends and it's just awesome."
"I'm just in such a good place right now," she contiued. "I really just hope that people see how much I'm trying to grow and mature as a person and as a mom. So I'm hoping that shows on the show, and I'm hoping that I see it in myself."
