Indian singer and icon Lata Mangeshkar has become the latest Internet death hoax victim.

Rumors about the legend's death spread across the Internet yesterday, causing an uproar among her fans. Luckily, Mangeshkar, 82, has a Twitter account and was able to put the rumors to rest.

"Pls don't believe any rumors which are doing the rounds about my health & well-being. All is well, by the Grace of God," she tweeted to almost half a million followers.

Mangeshkar started her singing career in 1942 and later became one of the biggest names in Hindi films. She recorded songs for more than a thousand films, singing in over 36 Indian dialects and foreign languages. Mangeshkar was also a Guinness Book of World Records recipient from 1974 to 1991 for most recordings in the world.
