Savannah Chrisley is all grown up and out of her iron fist father Todd Chrisley’s household on USA’s Chrisley Knows Best, and it’s safe to say she’s loving it.

The youngest daughter of the Chrisley family recently chatted with People magazine about her new phase of life in college, and she has no problem saying she’s grateful to be a little further away from her overbearing dad, Todd Chrisley.

“I mean, honestly for me, being on my own is awesome,” said Savannah, who is getting ready to become a student at Belmont University in Nashville. She just transferred from Lipscomb University, while her parents remain in Atlanta. “It’s just given me a chance to come into who I truly am. I just really do love being by myself. That’s just kind of my personality. Doing things by myself and not having my dad all up in my business is pretty awesome! I love him to death, but sometimes he’s just got to let go a little bit.”

Still, it’s not as easy for Todd as it is for Savannah.

“It’s definitely been harder on my dad I would say than anyone else,” she added. “Just because he likes tok now what I’m doing 24/7.”

Savannah and her family’s story will continue to play out on season four of the show. She revealed that this season the main story line will focus on Todd and his wife, Julie, adjusting to having an empty nest, with the exception of their son Grayson & granddaughter Chloe.
