Daniel Radcliffe has confessed to acting under the influence, saying he filmed some Harry Potter scenes while drunk.

In an interview with the British celebrity magazine Heat, the 22-year-old actor says he didn't drink a drop on the set, but often arrived smashed.

"I can honestly say I never drank at work on Harry Potter. I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work," Radcliffe told the magazine. "I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes."

Radcliffe acknowledged having a "very addictive personality," but noted that "people like that are very adept at hiding it."

In previous interviews, the former boy wizard said he began drinking too much whiskey in 2009 while filming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

"But after a while, you’re living under such a cloud of shame about what you’ve done and the dread of who you might see, what you might have said to them, what you might have done with them," he told Heat. "You either have to change something or give into that shame."

The now sober actor says he gave up alcohol in 2010 after filming wrapped on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 2.
