LMFAO Super Bowl Concert: 11 Injured as Free Show Draws Crowds
Indianapolis authorities reported 11 minor injuries in the downtown area Friday night as tens of thousands of fans turned out for a free pre-Superbowl street concert by the band LMFAO.
Despite the injuries and 22 arrests, mostly for public intoxication, officials said the estimated 50,000-strong crowd was under control and things were going well, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Indianapolis Department of Public Safety officials called the massive street scene a "positive experience."
"We are very thankful for the cooperation our residents and visitors displayed," a DPS spokesman said.
The DPS warned against bringing children into the crowd and cautioned people close to the stage to "create some space" for themselves.
Police have closed some streets to vehicular traffic to make room for the multitude of fans on foot.
