Kim Kardashian Baby With Kanye West, Speaks On Raising Biracial Child (VIDEO)
Kim Kardashian has opened up about her thoughts on raising a biracial child.
The Kourtney & Kim Take Miami star, who is Armenian and pregnant with Kanye West, who is African-American, shared her views on how she will raise their biracial child.
The reality star, who is reportedly six months along into her pregnancy and rumored to be delivering a baby girl in July, said she sought advice from her friends that are biracial to get their perspective on the subject.
"I have a lot of friends that are all different nationalities and their children are biracial, so they have kind of talked to me a little bit about it and what to expect and what not to expect," Kardashian told BET. "But I think that the most important thing is how I would want to raise my children is to just not see color."
Kardashian said she learned that the color of her child's skin should not be the top priority and that "raising a child in general is challenging" so she will focus on what really matters most - teaching them a lot through various experiences to broaden their perspective.
"There will be so many experiences . . . that you won't really know how to prepare for until you really go through it," Kardashian said. "Obviously you want your children to travel the world and experience different races and different cultures everywhere, so I think that would be something that is important to me to give as much information as I could."
Kardashian has been busy promoting the film this week. On Tuesday, she made several wardrobe changes as she made her media rounds to promote her appearance in the Temptation movie in New York City.
She first appeared on Good Morning America and wore an all-nude ensemble that consisted of a Valentino top, Ferragamo skirt and Christian Louboutin heels. For her Live with Kelly and Michael interview afterward, she changed into a nude Lanvin dress with Christian Louboutin heels. Later, she changed into a leather camel dress with a motorcycle jacket on a lunch date with a friend at Cipriani. She experienced a wardrobe malfunction with this outfit when the hem of her skirt raised and revealed she was wearing Spanx.
Tyler Perry's Temptation also stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Brandy Norwood and Vanessa Williams. The film was reportedly described by Perry as "a bold exploration of the intrigue and perils of infidelity.
Tyler Perry's Temptation arrives in theaters nationwide on March 29.
