Lil Wayne Epilepsy, Coma Update: After Hospitalized Says, 'I'm An Epileptic, Could've Died Soon' (VIDEO)
Lil' Wayne publicly announced the cause for his recent hospitalization scare.
In an interview with Los Angeles radio station Power 106 on Thursday, the Lollipop rapper told DJ Felli Fel that he is "prone to seizures" because he is epileptic.
"The thing is, man, the bad news is, I'm an epileptic, so I'm prone to seizures," Wayne said. "This wasn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh...I have had a bunch of seizures, you just never hear about them," he added.
The New Orleans rapper said that while he is "100 percent now," his latest health scare was so serious because his "heart rate went down to 30 percent" after suffering several seizures back-to-back.
"This time was real bad because I had three back to back and the third one was so bad," he revealed. "Basically, I could've died soon."
The Young Money artist said it wasn't caused by an overdose of "sizzurp" but from working too much. He explained, "The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That's typical me, though."
Lil Wayne was released from his near week-long hospital stay on March 18 after suffering back-to-back bouts of seizures. The following day, he released a video thanking his fans for their prayers and support.
Wayne announced 40 dates for his upcoming 2013 America's Most Wanted Music Festival on Monday, the day before he released one of this year's most highly anticipated rap albums, I Am Not A Human Being 2.
