Shain Gandee of MTV's Buckwild has died. The reality star, who was only 21 years old, was found dead in West Virginia on Monday only 31 hours after he was reported missing.

Local authorities told TMZ that Gandee's body was found alongside two others in a vehicle in Sissonville, West Va.

TMZ reported that Gandee was missing on Sunday, April 1 after he shared plans to go "four-wheeling" with his uncle at 3 am on Sunday. The reality star shared his plans to riding in his Ford Bronco with local patrons at a bar, MTV News reported.

The names of the other two found dead have not been released but authorities told MTV News that a second body has been identified.

Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper told MTV News that "It's a very sad day for this county."

"This is a small place and just about everyone in this community knows everybody," Carper said.

Gandee, who was given the nickname "Gandee Candy" for his sunny disposition, was one of the most popular members on the show, which is in its first season. The show was recently approved to air a second season, according to MTV.

MTV has released a statement about the sudden loss of one of their reality stars.

"We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends."

MTV adds, "Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly."
