He is the linchpin that could keep Julian (William DeVry) out of prison and away from having to face legal consequences for his mob activities, and knowing that he actually holds more power than anyone is giving him credit for, Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) will use it to his full advantage on General Hospital.

Though he is in custody and is expected to be put on trial for Duke's murder last year, whether or not he takes Julian, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Paul (Richard Burgi) down with him for their own various crimes is going to depend on whatever path he chooses to take. Julian has provided Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) as Carlos's attorney to try and ensure he isn't punished for the crimes he committed before he left the mob behind for a better life. However, Paul, who Carlos witnessed murder Kyle, has also given him a conditional deal that could give him less of a sentence for Duke's murder-but also keeps him from turning on Paul as well.

Now, after thinking about his options, he will give Alexis a warning that Julian needs to step up his game, or he's going to have prepare himself to go to jail, because he will flip and take Paul's deal.

"Julian pays me, big, or I take the deal from the DA," he says in a preview clip for the Wednesday, April 25 episode.

Now, Alexis will have to do whatever she can to keep her husband's former associate from destroying the life they have made together, but she could have a long battle ahead of he--especially if Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) returns to Port Charles and chooses to actually testify against him for his crime.

Meanwhile, Sonny (Maurice Benard) will also be preparing for his own kind of revenge when he starts contemplating the chance that Carlos could walk free--and nothing, not even an incredulous talk with his brother, Ric (Rick Hearst), will keep him from taking revenge on the man he thinks also tried to kill him.

"What're you going to do? You going to kill him?" Ric asks in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
