Gwen Stefani Twitter: Blake Shelton Was Trying To 'Impress' With Duet [VIDEO]
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton released their new duet, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" earlier this week and according to a recent interview, it was a "50/50 emotionally-invested" project.
In fact, the project started out as an effort by Shelton to impress the former "No Doubt" singer.
“Originally, when I started the song, I was just, I was only trying to impress her, you know, just trying to write her a song to get her excited about me, and I sent her the song half-finished and she wrote the other half of the song, so it's such a 50/50 emotionally-invested thing,” Shelton explained during an interview with Extra TV earlier this week.
“It’s already fun just talking about it — the fact that this is happening is exciting,” he added.
As for his other recently released track, "I Bet You Still Think About Me," which is believed to have been inspired by his ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, Shelton said, "It's basically what it sounds like."
"At some point, whether you go through a divorce or a breakup or whatever, once you get past the anger and the frustration of it all, you kind of go into the sad part of it where it's just like, 'Gosh, how come that didn't work out?'" And that's what this song is about. 'Even though stuff didn't work out, I bet you miss me a little bit.' It's a sad song," he said.
In other Gwen Stefani news, the 46-year-old is reportedly pregnant with her fourth child, a baby girl. According to an OK! Magazine report on Wednesday, via Hollywood Life, Stefani is “several months pregnant” with a girl and the baby is reportedly due in early October.
“Supposedly they weren’t doing anything to prevent a pregnancy,” the insider explained. “It was something they’d both welcome, but they assumed that ship had sailed.”
“They were already like a couple of giddy teens,” the source added. “Now, they’re even deeper in love.”
