Prince Death Update: Singer's Sister Gives 'Proposed Plan' On Funeral, When Is It Happening? [VIDEO]
Prince's sister revealed what the plans are for her brother's funeral as well as how she's been coping.
After the singer died suddenly last month, there was supposed to be a funeral for him on April 23, according to Tyka Nelson, Prince's sister. On Friday, she took to Facebook to say that plans changed when the family got together to honor him.
"My brother was a very private man and so a funeral had been planned for Saturday April 23rd," Nelson wrote. "But on the evening of Friday April 22nd while we were in the process of inviting a small group of family and friends, those funeral plans had to be sadly aborted. With the help of the Paisley Park staff (because some friends had already flown into town) we held an intimate gathering due to that cancellation, however it was not a funeral."
Nelson also pointed out that despite any rumors going on, no one in the family is having any disputes.
"To my knowledge...no one in my family has fought about anything, and least of all me," she wrote. "But I must admit I think it's funny that I'm the one they say, 'Stormed out...' or that 'We are at war' Me? Us? 'Really? Where was I when all that happened?'"
Nelson finished her post by saying how she and her family are grateful to the public for all their thoughts and condolences where an update was added in the end on what the funeral plans are right now.
"The proposed plan is to have our memorial/funeral/tribute in August with more updates coming soon..."
The death of Prince is still under investigation with more details being released. He died on April 21 at the age of 57.
