The Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall honored its most famous attendee, Prince, on Sunday, with hundreds attending the service.

Prince was honored for his devotional faith at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall this weekend with a special tribute to the music icon. About 450 people attended the service

"It was a beautiful service, a tribute to Prince," one of the attendees, Richard Weiner, told The New York Daily News. "They talked about his faith, how he became a Jehovah's Witness in 2003, and his actions after that were to glorify God in words and deeds."

The newspaper reported that the service's program featured a quote from Prince's song "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed."

The quote read, "If I were to ever write down my life story, I could truly say with all the fame and glory, I was just a piece of clay in need of the potter's hand."

Prince's devotion to the Jehovah's Witness faith may have been shocking to many, especially given some of the sexualized lyrics in his music. Yet, Prince's faith, especially in his later years, just made him all the more fascinating and complicated as an artistic legend.

Prince was most referred to as "Brother Nelson" at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall. The singer's full name was Prince Rogers Nelson.

So is a more public funeral in the works to mourn Prince's death? The music icon's sister, Tyka Nelson, spoke on Facebook recently and revealed that "the proposed plan is to have our memorial/funeral/tribute in August with more updates coming soon..."

Prince has been honored all over the world since his death on April 21, with many famous buildings and landscapes cast in shades of purple, a nod to the musician's love of the color and his famous Purple Rain album.
