'Real Housewives of Atlanta,' Kandi Burruss Premieres 'The Kandi Factory' on Bravo (PREVIEW VIDEO)
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss will premiere her own spin-off show on Bravo Tuesday.
Burruss will appear in The Kandi Factory, a weekly singing competition reality show starring the Grammy Award-winning songwriter, who has written for Whitney Houston, Destiny's Child and The Voice judge Usher.
Each week Burruss will write a song for contestants and they will record it in a studio. Afterward, they will learn choreographed dance routines, get a revamped image that includes a beauty and wardrobe makeover, and at the end of the week, they will sing the Burruss-written song live before an audience with their new look.
Burruss explained why The Kandi Factory is different from the other singing competition shows - namely American Idol, The Voice and The X Factor.
"We don't do it like the other music shows where they take the same people all the way through," Burruss explained to TV Guide Magazine. "Our show features two new people every week."
Burruss described the show as "intense" and "crazy" because viewers can expect drama in the unscripted series- at times she clashes with the contestants over ideas.
"We had a big blow-out in the studio one day that was unexpected," Burruss revealed. "One of the contestants and the choreographer almost went to blows with each other."
Burruss filed a lawsuit in March against her former RHOA co-star Kim Zolciak for the single she wrote Don't Be Tardy For The Party. Zolciak commercially released the singe record without Burruss' "authorization, license or consent," according to the documents filed.
Burruss and Zolciak went on tour together to promote the iTunes hit and it was documented during season 3 of RHOA. The title for the song Don't Be Tardy for the Party was the inspiration for Zolciak's spin-off reality show on Bravo Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding, which aired in April of 2012.
Burruss and Zolciak will address the lawsuit during The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 5 reunion, part 2 special, which airs on Bravo on Sunday, April 14 at 8/7 p.m. Central.
The Kandi Factory will premiere on Tuesday, April 9 at 10/9 p.m. Central on Bravo.
