'50 Shades of Grey Movie Cast: Are Henry Cavill & Emilia Clarke Now Top Contenders For Christian And Ana? VIDEO
Rumors continue to fly rapidly as to who will ultimately land the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey.
While there are a slew of strong contenders for the groundbreaking parts, Man of Steel's Henry Cavill and Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke continue to garner support from several of the erotica's loyalists.
After a recent fan-made YouTube video was posted that paired Cavill and Grey opposite one another in the future flick, several Fifty Shades fans took to social networking to give their approval.
"Oh if only this was the confirmed cast, and we were watching the real trailer huh? Love it. There two are my favourites for the roles," said Camden1313.
"I am in love with this trailer and these two together. They MUST be Christian and Ana!" Kristal123456 said.
With her flawless light skin, naturally dark brunette man and gorgeous face, it seems as though casting the Clarke would be a no-brainer. To top it off, she's a youthful looking 25-years-old, which is fairly close to Ana's listed age of 22.
The following argument in support of the actress for the role had been made, according to Gather:
"She's young, talented, fine with nudity/sex, pale, petite, big eyes, great body, delicate features, etc. all the things Christian loves about Ana :)."
Although Clarke doesn't particularly enjoy doing nude work, she's been more than willing to do so as long as it works for her character.
Clarke's GoT role as Daenerys Targaryan has had her stripping down on more than one occasion. Since the series is no stranger to violence and sex, the Steele role would clearly not be foreign territory.
On the other hand, Cavill, 29, was recently coined as the "Breakout Star of 2013" by Fandango. In the respective contest, the actor beat out fellow British movie stars Nicholas Hoult and Sam Clafin of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, among several other notable male celebrities.
Many women will surely be pulling for Cavill to don the Grey role due to his dashing looks and well-chiseled physique.
Although the producers have yet to attach a director to the franchise, the film is slated for a big screen release in the summer of 2014.
