'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast News: Stephen Amell & Felicity Jones Top Candidates For Christian & Anastasia? VIDEO
Fifty Shades of Grey movie casting rumors continue to heat up at a rapid rate.
While there have been several candidates discussed for the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, the potential pairings of the two have been making the chatter as of late.
One of the star tandems that have caught the attention of the Fifty Shades loyalists is Arrow's Stephen Amell and The Worst Witch's Felicity Jones. A fan spliced together a trailer of the two portraying the two erotic characters.
Although it's not the Red Room of Pain, Amell does don the part of a superhero with a top-secret training facility in Arrow. To top it off, the 31-year-old's character in the CW show also possesses some striking similarities to the Fifty Shades character of Grey
Much like Grey, Arrow is a good-looking and wealthy individual who had a rough past, which is what led to his now secret life. Interestingly enough Amell recently verified that he's been in discussions about the novel's film adaptation, making it a safe bet that he's a top contender for the Grey part.
"I get questions about Christian Grey all the time. That project is a long way off, I know this, because I had a meeting about it," Amell said. "Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close. I wouldn't call it long, but I wouldn't call it close."
Jones, 29, is best known in the United Kingdom to the TV masses as school bully Ethel Hallow in the first installment of the ITV series The Worst Witch and its sequel Weirdsister College.
Jones addressed the possibility of donning the Steele role to Metro in January.
"It all depends on the film-maker and script, just like any other job," she said. "Anyway, I've heard there's lots of campaigns by fans pushing other brunette actresses but I guess I should thank this person who went to all that trouble."
While the actress seemingly admired the fact that she was being considered for such a large role, she did reveal that she'd much rather keep a low profile: "I find that if you know a lot about an actor's personal life then, instinctively, it is harder to believe in the character they are playing."
Although the producers have yet to attach a director to the franchise, the film is slated for a big screen release in the summer of 2014.
