Adele, Foo Fighters Win Early Grammys, Houston Tribute Set
Adele and the Foo Fighters are among the early winners at the 54th annual Grammy Awards, which will include a "respectful" tribute to Whitney Houston, who died on Saturday.
Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" has already won for Best Short Form Music Video. Producer Paul Epworth, whose credits also include the Adele song was named Producer Of the Year, Non-Classical.
Foo Fighters' have won for Best Long Form Music Video, Best Rock Album, and Best Rock Song, and Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.
The awards night, which is one of the music industry's biggest events, is at risk of being overshadowed by Houston's death.
Houston was found unresponsive in her Beverly Hills hotel on Saturday and was declared dead just a few minutes later. No official cause of death has yet been released but police say they do not suspect foul play at this point.
The host of this year's awards ceremony is LL Cool J.
Top-selling singer Adele will perform at the awards ceremony, in her debut after she underwent throat surgery for vocal cord damage in November.
The ceremony will also include a tribute to singer Etta James, who died in late January after complications from leukemia.
Another anticipated performance will come from Chris Brown, who returns to the ceremony 3 years after an incident involving singer Rihanna that led to a felony conviction on assault charges for Brown.
