'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast: Is Felicity Jones Considered A Frontrunner For Anastasia Steele? VIDEO
Although there's been no official word yet on just how the casting process will go for Fifty Shades of Grey, another fan favorite for the role of Anastasia Steele has come up again in buzz, The Worst Witch's Felicity Jones.
This past January, Jones actually gave her thoughts on playing the saucy role to Metro, and gave the following response:
"It all depends on the film-maker and script, just like any other job. Anyway, I've heard there's lots of campaigns by fans pushing other brunette actresses but I guess I should thank this person who went to all that trouble," she said.
Despite the inevitable fame that her acting career brings, Jones tries to keep a sense of privacy in her personal life, which could serve to prevent her from being typecasted in such a role.
"I find that if you know a lot about an actor's personal life then, instinctively, it is harder to believe in the character they are playing."
At the beginning of the Fifty Shades of Grey novels, the Steele character is described as a 21-year-old virgin who isn't very talkative. Nonetheless, she eventually agrees to the S&M-crazed billionaire Christian Grey's submissive ways.
Other frontrunners for the role of the shy, college alumni include former Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel, Harry Potter's Emma Watson and Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale, amongst several others.
Although the producers have yet to attach a director to the franchise, Fifty Shades of Grey is slated for its big screen release in the summer of 2014.
