Kate Middleton’s pregnancy didn’t stop her from spending a relaxing weekend hitting the stores in Norfolk with some close friends, as she searched for deals for her and Prince William’s new home.

The princess reportedly visited a string of antique shops, including Mews Antique Emporium, which specializes in furniture, books, and collectibles. The shop is a half hour drive from the building where the couple will make their home, on the Queen’s Sandringham estate in Amner Hall.

“The Duchess looked radiant and well,” a spokesperson for the shop told MailOnline. “She was happy to mingle with other customers and security was very low key.”

Middleton made no purchases, although some of her friends came home with antique items.

Middleton and Prince William like to be modern and simple when it comes to home furnishing and decorating, verses using old-fashioned and royal styles. The 31-year old is shopping for pieces that fit her and William’s personalities.

“Kate has good taste, but she prefers a more contemporary style,” a source told the paper. Their main concern seems to be building a home for their family.

"The Duke and Duchess want to give their child and any subsequent children as normal an upbringing as possible,” a source told the Mirror. “They are not interested in a lavish lifestyle- they want to give their children the freedom to play and run around in the way they were able to.”
