After the recent firing of X Factor judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, fans are wondering who will fill those two empty seats -- and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has her eyes on one of them.

"That would be something I would love to do," Fergie told Extra's Mario Lopez at last night's Grammy Awards. "I mean timing is everything because if I did that show, I would want to give 110 percent to those contestants. That's what they deserve."

Fergie was a contender for the first season of X Factor, but couldn't commit due to her tour schedule. Paula Abdul took the spot.

Simon Cowell, the show's creator, gave Abdul, Scherzinger and X Factor host Steve Jones their walking papers during a casting shake-up. Veteran music producer L.A. Reid and Cowell, who also serves as a judge on the four-member panel, are returning to the judge's table for the show's second season.

Cowell has confirmed a story first reported by The Hollywood Reporter that legendary singer Whitney Houston, who died on Saturday, was among those being considered to fill one of the empty judge's chairs.
