LeAnn Rimes Denies Anorexia After Marriage to Eddie Cibrian: 'I'm Secure About My Body' [VIDEO]
LeAnn Rimes recently shut down rumors regarding her drastic weight loss and admitted that although she's had a few problems over the years, an eating disorder isn't one of the them.
The 30-year-old country singer drew attention when she started losing weight, prompting many to speculate that she was anorexic. In a new interview with Daily Mail, Rimes opened up about her weight loss and said it was a side effect from all the stress she was under due to her personal life.
"People said I was [anorexic], but I didn't have a problem with eating, as I ate a ton all the time -- I could eat my husband under the table!" she told the United Kingdom publication. "But I was going through a time when I just wasn't sleeping -- my mind wouldn't shut off and my heart was breaking."
The heartbreak she referred to centered around a very public affair years ago with now-husband Eddie Cibriran. Us Weekly reported that the How Do I Live singer met 38-year-old Cibrian on the set of Northern Lights back in 2000. At the time, the couple were both married to other people - Rimes to dancer Dean Sherement and Cibrian to Real Housewife of Beverly Hills reality TV star Blandi Glanville. Although Rimes and Cibrian fell in love and married, she said the last few years have been hard on her and described the period as "turbulent"
"To say I've been on several roller coasters is an understatement," she admitted.
Rimes said now she is in a much healthier state. In August 2012, she entered a 30-day rehab program for "anxiety and stress" issues, which has helped the country singer emotional and physically. She also credited the support she gets from Cibrian.
"Now I'm secure about my body, although I'm like any other woman and have my moments of self-doubt," she said. "But it's nice to have a husband who tells you you're beautiful all the time," she gushes. "I'll say to him, 'I've gained a few pounds,' and he'll say, 'Good!' "
