Actor Eddie Kaye Thomas, whose mostly known for his American Pie role as Paul Finch, contacted police on Wednesday after a female reportedly pulled a knife on him.

The 32-year-old met a female on April 17 at Mel's Diner in Los Angeles and decided to bring her to his home, according to Fox 8. The unidentified woman allegedly grabbed a knife at his residence and threatened to kill Thomas, who then called 911.

The SWAT team and Los Angeles Police Department responded to the actor's plea for help and arrived at his home. The woman reportedly refused to leave the premises prior to barricading herself inside with the knife. She also allegedly damaged Thomas' property inside the house.

Law enforcement stayed at the residence until they had an opportunity to get into contact with the woman. The authorities eventually unleashed flash bang grenades as well as tear gas canisters into the house. The standoff was said to have lasted a couple of hours, but the police then entered the home and told a hold of the woman.

Actress Minnie Driver, who lives in the same neighborhood as Thomas, took to Twitter to comment on the incident:

"It's not an armed man, it's a disgruntled woman. Disgruntled is probably the wrong word..just five rounds of...explosions. We are all sitting on the floor in the living room. Henry has a baseball glove and I'm eying the wine. Feel sad for this barricaded woman."
