Jennifer Aniston John Mayer Awkward Run-in [VIDEO]; Former Couple Bump Into Each Other at Restaurant
Jennifer Aniston and fiance Justin Theoroux shared an awkward moment when they bumped into Aniston's ex-boyfriend John Mayer while on a dinner date.
The couple was spotted at Los Angeles' hotspot Sunset Towers on Wednesday when they found themselves near Mayer. Although the singer noticed Aniston, he did not speak to her.
Mayer arrived at the restaurant after the actress was already seated with her close friends Drew Barrymore, Chelsea Handler, and Handler's boyfriend Andre Balazs.
"There was a bottle of wine on Jen's table. Looked like a cute dinner with friends. They are all having fun and Jen and Justin look very sweet together," a source told People magazine.
An eyewitness said Aniston and Mayer did not interact with each other but the Gravity singer "saw her when she came in," a second source said.
Aniston also noticed when Mayer came in to the restaurant, but carried on and continued to have a great time with Theoreux and friends.
"[Mayer] and his friend were placed two tables away from the group," another eyewitness said.
Mayer and Anniston dated briefly from 2008-2009.
During an interview with Rolling Stone in 2010, Mayer spoke about his former relationship with the Derailed actress.
"We just have a regard for each other's feelings that is pretty intense. It's been a deep relationship, and it's no longer taking place at all. Have you ever loved somebody, loved her completely, but had to end the relationship for life reasons?"
Mayer was reportedly dating singer Katy Perry, but recently split.
Aniston is set to marry Theoreux some time this year, according to reports.
Aniston appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show and said that she hasn't picked out the perfect wedding and getting ready for the cermony might make her "crazy."
Aniston was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005. The Friends star also plans to take Theroux's last name.
"She like the way it sounds and jokes that [Jennifer Theroux] sounds very posh," a source said.
