Amanda Bynes is reportedly going off the edge with her continuously unconventional behavior but tweeted that she is not in contact with her parents.

"I don't speak to my parents anymore, they don't talk to reporters on my behalf. Don't believe anything you read about me unless I tweet it," she tweeted on April 13.

HollyScoop recently spoke to a psychologist about why the actress would distance herself from her family when she seems to need help. The combination of bizarre tweets, strange videos and questionable fashion statements from the former Nickelodeon star - and receiving no visible parental support - led the website to turn to an expert for answers.

“Isolation and becoming seclusion are major signs or something wrong psychiatrically,” Harvard psychiatrist Helen M. Farrell said, adding that people who are depressed are known to have a mood disorder or use drugs. They also tend to shun their family and isolate themselves.

Bynes feels she is doing nothing wrong, however, and defended herself via Twitter against publications speculating about her mental state. She posted the following on April 13, part of a longer message in which she also addressed the "offensive headlines" written about her and reports of her needing to be "committed."

"This is DISGUSTING! I don't know why @UsWeekly thinks they are legally allowed to say I have a mental illness."

Bynes has also been tweeting the phrase "Twerking Out" regularly since April 12, causing fans to wonder further how long Bynes will continue her behavior without seeking help.
